First responders rescued more than 500 people from a flooded apartment complex in Clearwater, Florida, in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton on October 10.Footage filmed by Kevin O’Sullivan shows crews from Clearwater Police, Clearwater Fire and Rescue, and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office rescuing people who were trapped by rising water at The Standard complex.In a press conference, Clearwater Police Chief Eric Gandy said boats, highwater vehicles and a swamp buggy were deployed as part of the multi-agency response, which rescued 565 people from the apartment complex, including 116 children.“The water was so high, we had dive teams out here,” Gandy added. A female anoa, named Kasimbar, was delivered by her mother Darcy following a 10-month pregnancy and the birth was recorded on hidden cameras located in their den. The video is believed to be the first recorded footage of an anoa birth, according to the conservation zoo.
