So, we've been waiting for a Mean Girls sequel for, hmm, about 16 years now - and it looks like we could eventually be getting one!

Sure, there was the 2011 film Mean Girls 2, and Tina Fey's Mean Girls musical movie is set to be in the works, but let's be honest, it's just not the same without the original cast.

Thankfully, Lindsay Lohan herself has revealed that a sequel could potentially happen, and that she'd most definitely want to be a part of it. Double win.

Speaking on her mum Dina's podcast, The OG MAMA D, Lindsay responded to rumours of a Mean Girls sequel, saying: "Oh, I mean, I know that they're gonna do something, but I just don't know exactly what yet and it would be an honour to be a part of it, obviously."

Some of the Mean Girls cast did meet up for a Zoom reunion last month, and Lindsay says they're all still on good terms. "It was really fun to do the catching up all together [at] the reunion because it felt like - and they didn't air part of this - but it felt like we had all just seen each other the day before."

Plus, when asked whether she and the cast are still friends, Lindsay added: "It still feels like we know each other so well because we spent so much time with each other, and we discussed how it's been working with each other, [the fact] that it's been so continuous over the years that it feels like we're all still good friends, which was really nice, to catch up with everyone. So that was really fun."

This isn't the first time Lindsay has opened up about a possible Mean Girls sequel. She told the Daily Mail earlier this year: "Of course, I would say yes [to a sequel]. To come back with a movie like that would be my dream, to be honest, because I haven't done one in so long. That would be my ultimate."

At the time, Lindsay revealed that she'd also spoken to the original film's director, Mark Waters, adding that Rachel McAdams had previously said she'd love to reunite for a sequel. Lindsay continued, saying: "I think if I talked to Amanda [Seyfried] and I talked to Lacey [Chabert] and we kind of all could have a chat together, maybe we should do a Zoom call."

Tbh, we think that sounds like a great idea, Lindsay.
