Through four seasons of Bravoâs Summer House, Lindsay Hubbard has proven to be a top-notch reality star. The new fifth season of the Hamptons-set series will be no different for the Hubb House PR founder.
Premiering on Thursday, February 4, season 5 of Summer House will give viewers an inside look at the castâs six-week quarantine at an upgraded Hamptons mansion, complete with new additions. One of those new additions? Lindsayâs boyfriend at the time, Stephen Traversie, is one of those new additions.
For the latest episode of In The Knowâs pop culture interview series, We Should Talk, Lindsay Hubbard opened up about the fifth season of Summer House, including what it was like living with her boyfriend for the first time in what proved to be an illuminating experience that gave her the clarity she needed to end her relationship.
âIt was really challenging. Living together, working side-by-side, being in the same room and under the same roof, you donât have that much space,â Hubbard told ITK. âRelationships in front of the camera are really put to the test, and unfortunately things with Stephen didnât work out.â

Lindsay Hubbard on her split from Stephen Traversie: âWhatever we were going through before moving into the house, I wanted help in evaluating and understanding, could I move forward [with the relationship] at the end of the summer? I needed my friends for that. I needed witnesses, basically. It was kind of a test. As Danielle [Olivera] said, âI think it was a Hail Mary pass that you didnât really know you were throwing.â Obviously, weâve had some time to reflect on the summer and, thinking back on it, Iâm like, âMaybe youâre right! Maybe I was sort of looking for outside help in making any big decisions.â [âĤ] Look, it was really challenging. Living together, working side-by-side, being in the same room and under the same roof, you donât have that much space. Relationships in front of the camera are really put to the test, and unfortunately things with Stephen didnât work out. It is what it is. We wound up going our separate ways, and I do think heâs a really great guy, but it just didnât work for me. I wish him nothing but happiness. We both genuinely deserve to be happy, and unfortunately that just was not with each other.â
Lindsay Hubbard on filming âSummer Houseâ season 5 during a pandemic: âWhen COVID hit in March, [we didnât] really know anything that was going to happen. [âĤ] When it comes to filming our show, itâs right in the middle of COVID, and we werenât sure what was going to happen. Iâm glad it all worked out, and I know we were probably one of the first productions on Bravo that was able to actually film. I feel like we were preparing for this moment for the last four years. Like, âLetâs just lock people in a house together and see what happens.â The production and the crew did such a great job of making sure that safety was a top priority. I felt extremely safe. It was so nice to be able to get out of the city and to the Hamptons and have your friends around you for the first time in months.â
Lindsay Hubbard on being dragged into Southern Charm stars Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroyâs drama: âDid I hear about the drama? Somehow I got dragged into the drama! I had commented âIâm confusedâ on an entertainment news Instagram account, and apparently, which I had no idea, Madison had responded to my comment. It was the only thing that she had said across the board, and I was like, âWhat?â Austen called me last weekend and he was like, âLindsay, Madison responded to your comment on this Instagram account.â I was like, âShe did what?! Now Iâm even more confused.â Madison was like, âCall me, sis! Iâll give you all the tea.â Iâm like, âHuh?!â Austenâs my best friend, and I talk to him three to five times a week, and I donât even have Madisonâs number. I was like, âIâm not going to get involved. Iâm not getting dragged into this weird drama. Itâs just not for me.â I have my own s**t going on, so I donât need to deal with somebody latching onto me.â
Lindsay Hubbard on her friendship with Hannah Berner: âFor starters, Hannah and I have a very sisterly relationship, where you get along really well, and you feel like no one else in the world can understand you except for each other, but then you can also fight like cats and dogs. And then you make up. [âĤ] For Hannah, this will have been her third season, and she had to figure out her place within our friend group, and sometimes she questioned my help in that or threw me under the bus, which was really hurtful for me, because I was only ever trying to help her and felt like I had her back. A lot of the arguments that Hannah and I have had over the last year are mostly just her saying something that wasnât truth and her accusing me of something that I didnât do.â
