Lily Collins' thriller Inheritance is proving popular on Netflix, with the film becoming the fourth most-watched English-language movie on the streaming platform this week.

The 2020 film – not to be confused with Netflix's new Polish comedy of the same name – stars Collins as Lauren Monroe, the daughter of a wealthy and powerful patriarch.

However, when her father suddenly passes away, Lauren gets a further shock – news of a secret inheritance that further threatens her family's stability.

Inheritance isn't available on Netflix in the UK or US, but it is proving to be a hit on the streaming service in several South American countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Colombia.

It’s currently the fourth most-watched English-language movie on Netflix in the past week with over 5.1 million views, coming in behind Dracula Untold, Ultraman: Rising and Trigger Warning.

Inheritance didn't perform well with critics at the time, with the movie receiving a critics' score of 23% on Rotten Tomatoes. It fared marginally better with cinemagoers, receiving a 27% audience rating.

Inheritance also stars The Boys actors Simon Pegg and Chace Crawford, Role Play's Connie Nielsen and Family Guy's Patrick Warburton.

Collins is perhaps best known for her role as the title character in Emily in Paris, which is due to return to Netflix this August for its fourth season.

The official logline for the new season of Emily in Paris suggests that Emily is "reeling" following the dramatic events at Camille and Gabriel's wedding.

"She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed," the synopsis adds.

Season four will also see Emily and Gabriel grow closer as they work to get the restaurant a Michelin star, though "two big secrets threaten to undo everything they've dreamed of."

Emily in Paris seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix. Season 4 part 1 premieres on Thursday, August 15, followed by season 4 part 2 on Thursday, September 12.
