Landslides Fill Italy's Lake Como With Debris

Torrential rain brought floods and landslides to communities on the banks of Italy’s Lake Como on July 27, with footage showing debris floating in the lake.

Several rescues were carried out throughout the day, Italy’s fire service said.

The Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata reported that a gas leak in the town of Brienno, Como, caused by a landslide forced around 50 people to stay inside their homes. No deaths or injuries had been recorded, Euronews reported.
