Lana Del Rey Is Working At Waffle House And No One Knows Why

Waffle House is certainly no stranger to the bizarre, but a recent appearance from a celebrity has people scratching their heads. According to various social media posts, singer Lana Del Rey was spotted working at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama, this week.

In one video, Del Rey can be seen wearing the standard Waffle House employee uniform (complete with a name tag) while serving a customer from behind the counter. She can then be heard telling the person taking the video to not film someone without their permission.

One fan who encountered the singer during her Waffle House shift described the situation as "surreal."

“She was there, wearing a uniform and everything,” Karina Cisneros Juarez told AL.com. “It was a bit surreal. I just told her how much I loved her music and her work in general. She was super lovely, and incredibly nice.”

"It was great! She was so down to earth and real with us,” said fan Macy Ladner.

Given how peculiar it is for the "Pretty When You Cry" singer to be seen working behind the counter at Waffle House, there's been a lot of speculation online about what's going on. Interestingly enough, some people are convinced that she simply decided to pursue a different career path.

It's also possible that she could have taken some pointers from Ben Affleck—who worked at a Dunkin' drive-thru for an ad—and is filming a music video.

"Not Lana del Rey working at Waffle House in Florence I feel like she’s shooting a music video and one of her lyrics is gonna be able Alabama," one person tweeted.

Maybe Del Ray saw that this Waffle House only has 1.7 stars on Yelp and thought they could use any help they could get?
