There are few casts better than one with Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in the lead roles. Which is probably why everyone is so very excited to hear about House of Gucci, the upcoming crime thriller starring the pair.

After years in the making Gaga treated us to our first look the project in April 2021, sharing a picture of herself on Twitter in full costume on-set along with costar Adam Driver. The film, which is due to be released in cinemas in November 2021 follows the story behind the assassination of Maurizio Gucci, the former head of the Gucci fashion house. Here's what we know so far:

What teasers have we seen from House of Gucci?

Gaga shared a picture on Twitter showing her and Driver arm-in-arm on the balcony of a snowy mountain chalet dressed in full costume as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci. She accompanied the post with the caption, "Signore e Signora Gucci #HouseOfGucci" which translates to "Mr and Mrs Gucci".

The pair caused another internet furore after pictures of her feeding him on set of the film began circulating online. Suffice to say that people are really into it. First up, here are the pictures of Gaga and Adam (and possibly a panini) in all their glory.

And here's how everyone feels about it.

What is House of Gucci going to be about?

House of Gucci tells the story of how Reggiani was convicted for organising the assassination of her ex husband Maurizio Gucci, the former head of the Gucci fashion house. The film is based on a book by author Sara Gay Forden, titled, The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.

Who's been cast in House of Gucci?

The movie, which began filming in February this year, has signed up an incredible cast alongside Gaga and Driver. Directed by Hollywood heavyweight Ridley Scott the film also stars Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci, Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi and Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci.

What's the controversy surrounding House of Gucci?

While the internet has been obsessing over any and every image coming out of the set of House of Gucci, a controversy began to develop involving the film and the famous Gucci family depicted in it.

Patrizia Gucci, one of the second cousins of Maurizio Gucci (the role played by Adam Driver) has spoken out about the family's unhappy reaction to the project.

"We are truly disappointed. I speak on behalf of the family," she told The Associated Press. "They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system."

She alleged that there were inaccuracies within the novel used as the movie's source material and claimed that there was a lack of contact between the production company and the Gucci family, who are no longer involved in the fashion house today.

However, according to WWD Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzarri recently said that the brand is giving the production "total creative freedom," adding that "Gucci is collaborating with MGM and Scott Free Productions by providing access to the house’s historical archive for wardrobe and props."

When is House of Gucci being released?

House of Gucci is set to be released in cinemas on 24th November 2021. That is this year! This! Year!
