Kylo and Hobbes: Check Out This New Batch of Adorable 'Star Wars' Cartoons

Calvin has turned to the Dark Side.

Last month, Disney Animation Studios artist Brian Kesinger delighted fans of all things geeky and cute with a series of drawings account featuring Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters in the style of beloved comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. In his first batch of excellent ‘toons, Kesinger put Resistance X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron into the role of Calvin, the troublemaker with a rich imagination and big heart.

This time around, Kesinger (who worked on the upcoming Zootopia, among other films) has made new baddie Kylo Ren the Calvin of his cartoons, and it’s actually a perfect fit. Though we don’t know much about what made Kylo — or, Ben — go to the dark side, we imagine he was a rascal of a little kid. So did Kesinger, who made lil Kylo a real troublemaker in the cartoons, which were posted on Instagram.

Also of note: In the top cartoon, Rey has been transformed into Suzie, Calvin’s much-smarter neighbor and archenemy. Wonder if there are lightsaber fights on the playground?
