Update, April 23, 2021: The time has come! Smartfood's popcorn that tastes like an original glazed donut from Krispy Kreme has finally made it to the U.S. after we first heard of the magical snack's availability in England circa 2018.
The Smartfood Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnut popcorn is now available at Sam's Club for a limited time. It comes in a green bag that's just over one pound. The air-popped snack fuses two foods you can never go wrong with: salty popcorn and sweet donuts. Think kettle corn but even better! Each bag costs just under $5. Go get it while you still can, and buy yourself an actual Krispy Kreme original glazed donut while you're at it—you know, for comparison!

What is surprising is that Krispy Kreme has been hiding this magical treat in England, away from our sweets-loving hearts in the U.S.
Food blog The Junk Food Aisle recently posted a picture of the popcorn, with the disclaimer that it's only available across the pond. The popcorn comes in Krispy Kreme's most famous flavor: Original Glazed. It's been featured on Krispy Kreme U.K.'s social media accounts and looks like it has a glazed coating similar to caramel corn.
If you do find yourself in the U.K., all Krispy Kreme locations are selling the popcorn, according to The Junk Food Aisle. Commenters have also spotted the ultimate movie snack at stores like Selfridges. Like most popcorn, it's also gluten free, as the donut shop pointed out on Facebook.
We reached out to Krispy Kreme for comment, but there's no word yet whether the delicious-sounding popcorn is coming to the U.S. In the meantime, you can always get your Krispy Kreme fix with Anna Camp's insane donut bread pudding.
