Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn has said he'd like to have a go at making another Fantastic Four movie, after it didn't go down too well at all last time.

Vaughn, who was a producer on the 2015 flop film, told CinemaBlend: "The other one I've felt an obligation to do is, I wouldn't mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologise to everyone out there that maybe it didn't go very well for them.

"It's brilliant. One of my favourites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I'll try and rectify the mistake."

The director of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class didn't say exactly how he'd do it, but it's likely that he'd just reboot Fantastic Four rather than opting for a sequel.

Meanwhile, Stan Lee has said that he's confident X-Men and Fantastic Four will join up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As it stands, 20th Century Fox currently holds the film rights to both franchises, and after the studio's latest attempt to launch a Fantastic Four film series, many Marvel fans called for the rights to revert back to Marvel Studios so it can do a better job.

"Sooner or later, they're going to get the rights back to all our characters," Lee said during a recent appearance at Wizard World Nashville.

"They're working on it, and they're still making X-Men movies and stuff. Don't worry about it. You'll get more Marvel superheroes than you'll have time to look at in the next few years."
