Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season.

Fox received the award as the Kings prepared to play the New Orleans Pelicans in the quarterfinals of the NBA’s in-season tournament with a chance to advance to the Final Four in Las Vegas.

Fox averaged 31.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 8.7 assists last week while helping the Kings go 2-1 with wins over the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets. New York Knicks forward Julius Randle was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 24.7 points, 13.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists.

Fox had 29 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in a 124-123 victory over the Warriors on Tuesday as the Kings rallied from a 24-point deficit to win West Group C in the in-season tournament. Fox scored 40 points in a 131-117 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. He had 26 points and a career-high 16 assists with three steals in Saturday’s 123-117 victory over the Nuggets.

Vlade Divac returns

Hall of Famer Vlade Divac has returned to the organization as a Kings ambassador with a focus on business, marketing and outreach.

Divac played for the Kings from 1999-2004 and served as their general manager from 2015-20. The Kings legend has rejoined the team in a more formal capacity after helping the team with community and business outreach last season. Divac recently traveled to China with President of Business Operations John Rinehart to meet with current and potential partners.

Divac’s new role has nothing to do with basketball operations. He meets with season ticket holders, visits with fans during games and supports the organization’s business and marketing efforts.
