Yahoo Movies Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s ‘Don’t Be Tardy’ Canceled by Bravo After Eight Seasons
Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s publicist and Bravo confirmed to Variety that the network has canceled her docusoap “Don’t Be Tardy” after eight seasons. The show premiered in 2012, and chronicled the lead-up to the wedding between “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and NFL linebacker Kroy Biermann.
A Bravo spokesperson issued this statement Friday: “We have enjoyed watching the incredible journey of Kim, Kroy and their entire family who grew up right before our eyes. We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to share their life and all the touching moments with our audience. While ‘Don’t Be Tardy’ will not be returning for another season, the Biermanns will always be part of the Bravo family and we look forward to seeing what’s next.”

Zolciak-Biermann was a breakout star from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and was the show’s only white cast member when it premiered in 2008. Her relationship with a sugar daddy she would refer to only as “Big Poppa” (widely reportedly to be Atlanta businessman Lee Najjar) and her ostentatiously blonde wigs made her an object of fascination to fans of the show. (In 2018, Zolciak-Biermann would release a song called “WIG (Wish I Gave a S–t”.)
Zolciak-Biermann left “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” during Season 5, but would turn up in subsequent seasons doing what she does best: stirring up trouble.
Before they married on “Don’t Be Tardy,” Zolciak-Biermann and Biermann already had a son together, Kroy, who kicked off the first of four “K” names for their children who would soon follow. (Kroy became KJ, and then came Kash Kade, Kaia Rose and Kane Ren.)
Zolciak-Biermann already had two daughters, Brielle and Ariana, from a previous relationship. They were also featured on “Don’t Be Tardy” and have become social media stars in their own rights. (Brielle has more than 1.3 million Instagram followers.) Biermann later adopted Brielle and Ariana, and they changed their last names.
“Don’t Be Tardy” was named after the song “Tardy for the Party,” which “Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” Kandi Burruss co-wrote for Zolciak during her attempted singing career. Producing the song — an unlikely earworm — and the resulting strife around it was shown during the second season of “RHOA.” Burruss suing Zolciak for withheld payments in subsequent seasons also played out on the show.
Zolciak-Biermann also appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” in 2015, but had to drop out early in the season after having a minor stroke.
In a statement on Friday, Zolciak-Biermann and Biermann indicated they will be back on television soon: “The Biermann family is extremely grateful for their 13 year-plus relationship with Bravo and NBC Universal. We greatly appreciate and value the support from all of our fans as we continue to grow in the entertainment industry. In times of significant growth there are steps that have to be strategically taken, but rest assured, you will see the Biermann family on you TV screens again very soon.
