The theater isn't the only place to view Killers of the Flower Moon.

Directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese, the 3 hours and 26 minute western epic will soon be available to watch from the comfort of your own couch thanks to its upcoming digital release and anticipated streaming option.

Killers of the Flower Moon tells the real-life story of the Reign of Terror, a series of brutal murders of members of the Osage Nation, who were the richest people per capita in the world in the 1920s. The picture is also based on David Grann’s 2017 non-fiction book of the same name.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Ernest Buckhart, a White man who travels to Oklahoma to and marries a wealthy Osage woman named Mollie, played by breakout star Lily Gladstone. "She had a good relationship with Leo," Scorsese said of the actress during a press conference.

In the film, DiCaprio's character becomes part of a conspiracy to murder members of Mollie's family in an effort to inherit her oil rights, a plot concocted by wealthy cattle rancher William K. Hale, played by Robert De Niro.

"In reality, it wasn't a matter of who did it. I wanted to show who didn't do it," Scorsese said during the press conference. In contrast to the book the film was based on, he opted to take a different route to prevent the movie from playing like a typical murder-mystery.

Killers of the Flower Moon generated $120 million globally after three weekends of release, reported Variety. Scorsese's western epic marked the first major theatrical release for Apple.

"It came out of the gate with strong starts overseas, especially for a period movie with a long running time and at a moment when talent could not promote it due to the actors strike," Deadline reported in October.

Though reviews and audience reception were strong, Forbes noted, "Killers of the Flower Moon will almost certainly fail to make back its enormous $200 million budget and millions more in marketing expenses at the box office."
