Kickoff time announced for Boise State’s home game vs. Mountain West foe Fresno State

Boise State’s home game against Fresno State will kick off at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, and air on FS1, the Mountain West Conference announced Monday.

Boise State was the favorite to win the Mountain Division when the preseason media poll came out in July. Fresno State was picked to win the West, but neither team has had the season it expected up to this point.

The Broncos (2-2, 1-0 MW) are coming off one of their worst offensive performances in recent memory in a 27-10 loss at UTEP on Friday. Boise State was held to 177 total yards, managing just 93 through the air and 84 on the ground.

Boise State coach Andy Avalos fired offensive coordinator Tim Plough less than 24 hours after the loss.

The Broncos will be in action at Albertsons Stadium this week when they host San Diego State (6 p.m., FS1) on Friday.

Fresno State (1-2, 0-0 MW) is coming off back-to-back losses to Pac-12 schools Oregon State and USC. The Beavers needed a 2-yard touchdown run from linebacker-wildcat quarterback Jack Colletto as time expired to beat the Bulldogs 35-32. The Trojans beat Fresno State 45-17 in a game that Bulldogs quarterback Jake Haener exited early because of injury.

Fresno State hits the road this week to face UConn on Saturday.

Haener, the preseason Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, has thrown for 854 yards and four touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ first three games. Running back Jordan Mims leads the team with 309 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Boise State is 16-7 all-time against Fresno State, including a 40-14 win last season in Fresno, California.
