Khloé Kardashian has opened up about what happened when ex Tristan Thompson proposed to her, in a new episode of The Kardashians.
The pair have had a publicly turbulent relationship in recent years, with Khloé finding out that Tristan had cheated just days before giving birth to their daughter True back in 2018. Then, in December 2021 Tristan became the subject of another cheating scandal, this time fathering son Theo with personal trainer Maralee Nichols. Khloé has since revealed that she found out about the affair just days after her and Tristan's embryo transfer - with the pair welcoming a son via surrogate in July 2022.
Now, Khloé has surprised fans by revealing that Tristan actually proposed to her back in December 2020.
In the second episode of The Kardashians season two (which aired on 29 September), Khloé was seen discussing the proposal with sister Kim. Explaining why she chose to reject Tristan's proposal, Khloé revealed, "What I said is that I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship, because I want to be proud to say I'm engaged to anyone.
"And that's why I said, 'you know, I'm not comfortable accepting this right now, because I'm not excited to tell my family.'" She went on to add, "I'm not ever going to accept something and give someone false hope - and I said that to him."
It also turns out that Khloé hadn't told her family members about the proposal at the time, with Kim revealing that she actually found out months later when she spoke to Tristan. Kim told Khloé, "I asked him months later, the night after I thought it happened, and he's like, 'Oh, I did it months ago. She didn't tell you guys?'"
Kim went on to tell viewers that Tristan had previously called her to discuss his plans for Valentine's Day 2021, with Kim then following up after 14th Feb, only to find out Tristan had already proposed back in December 2020.
Khloé and Tristan welcomed a son, their second child together, via surrogate in July 2022. The birth comes months after Tristan acknowledged his paternity scandal in January, taking to social media to apologise to Khloé.
