British authorities have authorized sex offense charges against actor Kevin Spacey.

Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service made the announcement on Thursday (May 26) following an investigation by police in London.

In a statement, officials authorized criminal charges against the Oscar-winning actor for four counts of sexual assault against three men.

Spacey, once one of Hollywood's biggest stars, has largely disappeared from public view since being accused of sexual misconduct five years ago.

The U.S. actor was once Artistic Director at London’s Old Vic theatre.

In 2017, the Old Vic announced it had received 20 separate allegations of inappropriate conduct by Spacey from 20 men.

Spacey was dropped from the movie ‘All the Money in the World’ and the TV show ‘House of Cards’ after accusations of sexual misconduct were made public.

The 62 year-old has previously denied all accusations of misconduct.
