Kevin Harlan again had a great call of a field invader, this time at 49ers-Rams game

And now we know: The three things that are certain in life are death, taxes and ... broadcaster Kevin Harlan making great calls of fans who run on the field at games.

Sure, that doesn’t really roll off the tongue, but Harlan proved once again on Monday night that he’s got a flair for this type of thing.

During the 49ers’ 24-9 win over the Rams, a man ran on the field with a pink smoke bomb in hand and had fun for a precious few seconds. He made the mistake of running down LA’s sideline, and Rams linebackers Bobby Wagner and Takkarist McKinley crushed the guy.

Harlan was calling the game on radio, and a Twitter user paired that call with video of the fan who probably woke up sore on Tuesday morning.

“And here comes a stoppage in play because someone has run on the field with a smoke bomb that is pink and he’s running up the sideline,” Harlan said, “and now a couple of Rams come over there and make the tackle! Head first into the (fan) who has taken the field. And he’s in a cloud of pink smoke so you can’t see him and now on him are a couple of security guards.”

Harlan later said: “That guy is headed to the slammer! And it will not be a good night.”

That’s true. Here is the video from Twitter user Timothy Burke.

This is a great photo of the moment of impact when McKinley and Wagner hammered the fan.

“That’s not making a play. That’s just keeping it safe,” Wagner told ESPN. “You don’t know what that fan got or what they’re doing. You see it all the time, and we don’t know what they’re carrying in their pockets. It’s whatever that little smoke stuff is, but that (stuff) could be dangerous.”

Harlan has previously called a fan or animal on the field many times, including a memorable moment from a 2016 Rams-49ers game.
