She's a Barbie girl.
This year's top Halloween costume is undoubtedly going to be Barbie (right behind Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, of course), so leave it to the celebrities to pull out all the stops in spot-on replicas of the costumes from Greta Gerwig's film. (Well, SAG-compliant actors have been encouraged not to dress up as characters from "struck" films, but hey, that's what reality stars and musicians are for, right?)
Speaking of singers, Kelsea Ballerini attended a costume party on Wednesday dressed in one of the more unexpected costumes from the film — and it's perfectly on brand for the country star. The Grammy-nominated artist dressed as cowgirl Barbie, one of the costumes worn by Margot Robbie when she and Ken (Ryan Gosling) go to the real world. Ballerini wore a Barbiecore pink western set consisting of a button-up vest and lace-up bellbottom pants printed with stars, just like Robbie's in the film. She accessorized with a matching pink handkerchief and a white cowgirl hat and wore a long blonde wig styled in loose curls. Feathered lashes, rosy cheeks, and, you guessed it, light pink lipstick finished off her Barbie-fied glam look.
She was spotted rocking the 'fit while walking hand-in-hand with her boyfriend, Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. Taking a page from Ken's book, Stokes let his lady shine by forgoing a costume and instead wearing light-wast jeans, a white hoodie, and a blue shacket.
Ballerini wore the 'fit to attend the The Original Donut Shop Coffee's treat-filled Halloween costume party. Before the event, Ballerini posted a TikTok video of her getting ready process against a sound from the movie's beach scene, when all of the Barbies and Kens greet each other. She mouthed "Hi Barbie!" and in each clip she had more of her costume on.
"A BARBIE GIRL HAPPY EARLY HALLOWEEN LETS GO PARTY WITH @originaldonutshop," she captioned the post.
