KC Chiefs vs. New York Giants: When, where how to watch on TV, line, kickoff time

For the first few weeks of this season, the Chiefs-Giants game we’ll see next week on Monday Night Football looked like a mismatch.

The Chiefs were scuffling, but the team that played in the previous two Super Bowls surely would find a way out of the doldrums. The Giants, meanwhile, were a wreck of a team, losing five of their first six and getting blown out by the Cowboys and Rams.

But ... wow. Look what Sunday brought.

The Chiefs suffered their worst defeat of the Patrick Mahomes era — there haven’t been many of them, so research is quick — in a 27-3 loss at the Tennessee Titans. It marked the first time the Chiefs were held without a touchdown in a regular-season game since a 12-9 loss at the Giants in 2017. Travis Kelce threw an interception in that one (you read that right).

And the Giants? All they did Sunday, while the Chiefs were getting blown out in Nashville, was dominate the Carolina Panthers 25-3 on Sunday, surrendering just 173 total yards and forcing a safety on an intentional-grounding penalty in the end zone.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones threw a touchdown pass and made a terrific 16-yard reception on a touchdown drive.

The Chiefs and Giants are trending in opposite directions.
