KC Chiefs’ Marquez Valdes-Scantling will play vs. Buccaneers. Here are the inactives

Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (abdomen) entered the weekend designated as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

But there are no more worries on his availability because Valdes-Scantling, who put in two limited practices last week, is not among the seven players the Chiefs listed as inactive.

The Chiefs will need Valdes-Scantling against the Buccaneers’ pass defense, which currently ranks 12th in the league (209 yards allowed per game). Valdes-Scantling’s 10 catches for 105 yards are the fourth-most on Kansas City’s offense.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs’ list of players not playing is the same group from Week 3.

Kicker Harrison Butker (left ankle sprain), defensive end Mike Danna (calf), running back Ronald Jones, quarterback Shane Buechele, rookie offensive lineman Darian Kinnard, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh and rookie defensive end Benton Whitley are inactive.

Butker was officially ruled out on Saturday, and the Chiefs elevated Matthew Wright to handle the kicking duties. The Chiefs also elevated linebacker Elijah Lee from the practice squad, and he will contribute mostly on special teams while providing depth on defense.

Jones is inactive for a fourth straight game, meaning the Chiefs will continue to go a backfield consisting of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and rookie Isiah Pacheco along with fullback Michael Burton.

Rookie safety Nazeeh Johnson, who was activated from the practice squad earlier in the week, is set to make his NFL debut.

For the Buccaneers, quarterback Kyle Trask, tight end Kyle Rudolph, wide receiver Scotty Miller, wide receiver Breshad Perriman, cornerback Zyon McCollum and defensive lineman Akiem Hicks are not playing.
