KBRA Releases Research – COVID-19: May Retail Sales Soften 1.3% MoM but Hits 18% Above Pre-Pandemic Peak

NEW YORK, June 23, 2021--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) releases research that discusses the pause in U.S. retail sales growth recorded in May 2021 and the strength of the retail sales recovery since the early months of the pandemic. Despite the May decline, retail sales have been buoyant in 2021, with even the most severely impacted retail categories tracked in the U.S. Census Advance Monthly Retail Sales Report exceeding the pre-pandemic high as of May.
