Katie Price Shares Video of Son Harvey Setting Up His New Room as He Prepares to Go to College

Katie Price Says She Has Made the Decision to Place 18-Year-Old Son Harvey in a Care Home Full-Time

"I don't want him to think I'm just getting rid of him," the TV star said

UPDATE: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Katie Price had decided to place her son in a full-time care home. She is seeking to enroll him in a residential college.

Katie Price is sharing more of her journey with son Harvey.

On Sunday, the TV star shared a video of the 18-year-old, who has autism, trying out his new bed.

"Harvey soo happy today as doing Harvey's new room up starting with his new bed from @the_bedroom_centre," Price captioned the video. "Thank you sooo much."

The video shows Harvey walking into his room and laying down on the new mattress.

"What do you think of your bed?" Price asks Harvey.

"I love it!" he responds.

Last week, Price spoke out about her search for a residential college for the teen, which she hopes will teach him to be able to live a more independent life.

"It breaks my heart," she told The Sun. "I don't want him to think I'm just getting rid of him."

Price has raised her son, who has autism and was born with septic optic dysplasia — a rare disorder that affects brain function, hormones and vision — largely as a single mother. Due to his autism, he can sometimes lash out unpredictably, especially if he hears loud noises, Price said.

"You hear about people with autism being arrested and when they're restrained they go mad and get sectioned," she told The Sun. "That's why I want to find the right college for him so if there's ever a case where he kicks off, I'm involved."

Since Harvey is now 18, Price said she wants him to learn to live independently. The pair have been looking at residential colleges for the past six months for children with autism and learning disabilities.

"It's so upsetting to think I won't see him every day, but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don't want him to think I'm just getting rid of him," Price said. "This is his chance to live an independent life, learn skills and socialize with people other than me."

Price shares Harvey with football player Dwight Yorke. She also shares son Junior, 15, and daughter Princess, 13, with ex-husband Peter André and son Jett, 7, and Bunny, 6, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler.
