Duchess Kate stepped out this week for the Diplomatic Corps Reception at Buckingham Palace. Wearing a show-stopping Alexander McQueen gown, Kate looked as incredible as she always does. And her jewelry was something else.

The Duchess of Cambridge donned the Lover's Knot tiara, once a favorite of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, and Kate's go-to piece of royal jewelry. Her iconic sapphire engagement ring from Prince William was visible, as was another sparkly ring on her right hand, which fans of the duchess didn't recognize.

The origin of Kate's new ring remains unclear, although some royal fans have suggested it might be a gift from her husband Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge was also photographed wearing the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace, and a pair of earrings from the Diamond Chandelier Drop Demi-Parure set. Along with the unidentified new ring, the royal added more than a little sparkle to her formal velvet gown.
