Yahoo Movies Kanye West Officially Declares He No Longer Supports President Donald Trump
Kanye West declared in a new interview with Forbes that he no longer supports President Donald Trump.
The rapper revealed more of his plans to supposedly run for president in this year's election and why he no longer believes in Trump's ability to lead the country.
Kanye West wants the world to believe that he's running for president, and to further convince us, he declared in a new interview with Forbes that he no longer supports President Donald Trump.
While sharing more details on his supposed upcoming campaign (and new political party dubbed the Birthday Party, because, and we quote, "When we win, it's everybody's birthday"), the rapper and fashion designer went on the record saying that he's "taking the red hat off" and that he no longer supports the current president.
In recent years, the rapper has become synonymous with the president, shocking fans around the world by voicing his support for Trump—including visits to the White House, and photo ops in front of Trump Tower in New York, as well as seemingly chummy tweets between the two. West's praising of Trump has raised brows over the years but especially so in today's political climate. In recent weeks the president has rejected the call to defund the nation's police following the Black Lives Matter protests, has threatened the lives of DACA recipients, and has shown little to no regard for the well-being of minorities of any sort within the United States.
West also revealed that he registered to vote for the first time just a few weeks ago.

"It looks like one big mess to me," West told Forbes of the current administration. "I don't like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker," he continued, referencing the time when Trump reportedly was whisked away to a secret White House bunker while Black Lives Matter demonstrators protested the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor in Washington, D.C.
West clarified, however, explaining that he doesn't dislike Trump as a whole, but merely doesn't believe he should continue to lead the country, including that Trump's faith in God is one of the reasons West supported the nation's 45th president.
"Trump is the closest president we've had in years to allowing God to still be part of the conversation," said West.
The musician continued, explaining that his political taste flows between parties, announcing his approval of former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. West doesn't seem to retain any faith for the current Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, however.
"Obama's special. Trump's special. We say Kanye West is special. America needs special people that lead. Bill Clinton? Special," declared West. "Joe Biden's not special."
