Kansas State’s latest football pledge is the son of a former Bill Snyder assistant

The newest member of Kansas State’s 2023 recruiting class is no stranger to Manhattan.

Jack Fabris, a 6-foot-1 and 200-pound athlete from Bogart, Georgia, announced his intentions to play for the Wildcats this week. That means he will play college football in the same stadium where he used to watch his father work as an assistant coach.

When Bill Snyder was roaming the sidelines at K-State, he twice hired Jon Fabris as his defensive ends coach. His first stint with the Wildcats came from 1997-98 and he returned to Manhattan from 2017-18.

That connection helped K-State identify Jack Fabris as a recruit, even though he lives nearly 1,000 miles away from the Flint Hills.

“I want to thank God for blessing me throughout my life and with this opportunity,” Jack Fabris wrote on social media. “I’d also like to thank my parents for being very supportive of me throughout my life and this process and my coaches for pushing and teaching me.

“Finally, I would like thank Coach (Chris) Klieman and Coach (Joe) Klanderman for giving me this opportunity as well as Taylor Braet for his help along the way. With that being said, I am committing to Kansas State.”

Jack Fabris chose K-State over Army, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion. He does not currently have a star rating from Rivals.

It is unclear what position he projects to play at the college level, but it will likely be somewhere on defense, as coordinator Joe Klanderman was his primary recruiter.

K-State has been landing recruits at a frantic pace over the past week. Fabris becomes the ninth member of the 2023 recruiting class, joining other recent pledges Dylan Edwards an Kanijal Thomas.
