Kansas City area restaurants with health code violations: New Peking, KC Hooley, more

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical violations:

▪ New Peking Chinese Restaurant, 540 Westport Road, had 12 critical violations during a March 21 routine inspection.

▪ KC Hooley House, Power & Light District, 170 E. 14th St., had 10 critical violations during a March 25 routine inspection.

▪ Hong’s Buffet, 6151 N.W. Barry Road, had nine critical violations during a March 22 routine inspection.

▪ Moti Mahal Authentic Indian Cuisine, Westport, 4113 Pennsylvania Ave., had nine critical violations during a March 22 routine inspection.

▪ Harpo’s, Westport, 4109 Pennsylvania Ave., had eight critical violations during a March 25 routine inspection.

▪ Rye, Country Club Plaza, 4646 Mill Creek Parkway, had eight critical violations during a March 20 routine inspection.

▪ LC’s Bar-B-Q, 5800 Blue Parkway, had seven critical violations during a March 24 routine inspection.

▪ Waffle House, 4404 N.E. Antioch Road, had seven critical violations during a March 25 routine inspection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links to the reports are not available).

▪ Kitch, Corinth Quarter, 4113 W. 83rd St., Prairie Village, had eight priority violations during a March 23 routine inspection.

▪ Palacana, 151 S. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas, had eight priority violations during a March 14 routine inspection.

▪ Dragon Inn, 7500 W. 80th St., Overland Park, had seven priority inspections during a March 22 routine inspection.

▪ Hy-Vee, 13550 W. 63rd St., Shawnee, had seven priority violations during a March 21 routine inspection.

▪ Miyabi Japanese & Asian Bistro, 7809 W. 151st St., Overland Park, had seven priority violations during a March 21 routine inspection.
