Justine Skye Accuses Sheck Wes of Abuse as Rapper Issues Denial: 'I Never Hit or Beat Any Women'

Singer and model Justine Skye accused Sheck Wes of abuse and stalking Monday, prompting the “Mo Bamba” rapper to issue a denial.

Skye, 23, sparked a back-and-forth conversation on Twitter when she claimed she was walking with friends and her boyfriend when the group was stalked and attacked by Wes, 20, and his friends.

“Two cars full of n— while he sat in the car like a bitch. You’re pathetic sheck and you beat women,” she wrote. “You hit your girl before me and you’ll do it again.”

Wes (né Khadimou Fall) then responded to Skye’s allegations, claiming that he has never put his hands on a woman, and would not allow the singer to spread “lies.”

“I’ve chosen to remain silent until now out of respect for actual victims of abuse. But I cannot stand by while lies are repeatedly told about me,” he wrote. “I never hit or beat any women and I did not beat up or jump anybody.”

Skye did not take kindly to Wes’ denial, calling the rapper “pathetic” and doubling down on her claim that he abused her. The singer also said she had footage of Wes “jumping over the fence of (her) crib to attack” her, which she later shared on Twitter.

“Just clarifying this is a video of me hopping a fence to get my stuff back from a girl who refused to give me my stuff,” he wrote. “Once again for the record I never hit or beat up any woman.”

Skye denied Wes’ recollection of events, and claimed that she was actually attempting to give him back his things when he began acting “violently and irrational.”

Reps for both parties did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The contentious war of words has been building since October, when Skye released her single “Build” and its accompanying music video.

The haunting clip, which Skye said was based on true events, depicted the singer as a victim of domestic violence, and prompted her to come forward with her own experiences of being in an abusive relationship.

“Recently I’ve had one of the scariest/heart breaking experiences in my life and it’s still hard for me to talk about,” she wrote on Instagram. “I felt stupid, angry, depressed…blamed myself. Trying to figure out how someone who claimed they loved me so much could find such evil within themselves to hurt me mentally and physically.”

Skye refrained from naming her alleged abuser at the time, even as speculation began to build that she was referring to Wes.

She explained her decision to stay mum regarding the man’s identity on Twitter, saying she felt “it wouldn’t matter” to many of her followers, and would simply be “something for you to talk about today.”

Wes rose to fame in 2018 after his song “Mo Bamba” became a surprise Top 10 hit nearly a year after its release. He released his debut album Mudboy in October.
