Justin Bieber postpones world tour due to COVID-19 (again): See the new 2022 dates

Corrections & Clarifications: An earlier version of this report misstated when tickets for new dates on Justin Bieber's world tour go on sale. They go on sale later this month.

Justin Bieber has postponed his world tour — again.

After announcing last year that his 2020 tour had been pushed to 2021, the pop star took to Instagram on Thursday to announce that The Justice World Tour 2022 will finally kick off next year.

Like other major music touring acts, Bieber canceled his concerts in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, which has made gathering in large crowds risky. The singer's website said the tour was postponed a second time due to COVID-19 restrictions varying by state.

Seven new arena shows have been added to the 2022 tour, which now totals 52 dates. The tour starts Feb. 18, 2022, in San Diego at the Pechanga Arena. Tickets for new shows will go on sale later this month.

The tour concludes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 24 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

In addition to several American cities, the world tour also includes performances in the Canadian cities Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

Before the tour's first postponement, Kehlani and Jaden Smith were slated as supporting acts but are no longer part of the tour. New supporting acts have not been announced.

“I can’t wait to get out there and connect with my fans on this tour,” Bieber said in a 2020 statement. “We’ve been through so much this year. More than ever, we’ve come to understand how much we need each other, and how meaningful these moments can really be.”

According to Bieber's website, everyone who has already purchased a ticket will receive an email from their ticket provider regarding event updates and their options if they cannot make the 2022 date.

Tickets for rescheduled dates will be honored with refunds available at the point of purchase, and tickets for canceled shows will be automatically refunded in 30 days.
