Jumanji 3 finally confirms release date
Jumanji 3 has finally landed a release date.
The franchise's next instalment is expected to see the return of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black following the success of 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its 2019 sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level, both of which followed the original 1995 classic starring Robin Williams.
According to Deadline, Sony has now confirmed that the next entry will arrive in cinemas on December 11, 2026.

Jake Kasdan, who directed the previous two films, is also expected to be at the helm of the third and produce alongside Matt Tolmach, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
A further continuation of the story was first teased at the end of 2019's The Next Level, though Kasdan confirmed in 2020 that production was put on the backburner due to the pandemic.
In early 2022, producer Hiram Garcia confirmed that fans would have to wait until at least Red One – Dwayne Johnson's upcoming Christmas movie – was finished filming for Jumanji 3 to begin production.

Red One, which is also directed by Kasdan, will centre on the suspicious disappearance of Santa Claus, played by JK Simmons.
Johnson plays ELF task force commander Callum Drift, who is sent on a mission to find and retrieve Santa before Christmas rolls round.
The festive action-comedy also stars Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Bonnie Hunt.
When the movie began production in 2022, Johnson said at the time: "Chris [Evans] and I have been waiting to make a Christmas movie our entire careers and now finally, the trouble begins."
Jumanji 3 is scheduled to be released on December 11, 2026. Red One arrives in cinemas on November 15, 2024.
