Julia Stiles and Anthony Hopkins Team Up to Take Down Ray Liotta's Baddie in 'Blackway' Trailer (Exclusive)

“OK, Lillian.” There’s a creepiness to Ray Liotta’s titular character from the first moment we see him in Blackway, for which you can watch the exclusive trailer above. He’s not just a crooked ex-cop, tatted up like Max Cady, but a meth-dealing sleazebag who’s taken to stalking.

His new mark is Lillian (Julia Stiles), a cocktail waitress who has recently returned to her home in a small Pacific Northwest town after the death of her mother. When Blackway’s antics turn violent, Lillian summons the help of a retired logger (Anthony Hopkins) — who himself has some personal history with the stalker — and his laconic young friend (Alexander Ludwig) to hunt down the madman.

The role feels like a throwback of sorts for Liotta, who also played a cop-turned-stalker in the 1992 thriller Unlawful Entry. In that film, he was an active cop who took a “special interest” in the lives and affairs of a married Los Angeles couple (Kurt Russell and Madeleine Stowe) after their house was broken into.

Formely titled Go With Me, Blackway premiered at the 2015 Venice Film Festival. Based on the novel by Castle Freeman Jr. and adapted for the screen by Joe Gangemi and Gregory Jacobs, the film is directed by Daniel Alfredson, who previously helmed two parts of the Swedish-language Millennium Trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest (both released in the U.S. in 2010) — and not to be confused with retired NHL star Daniel Alfredsson.

Blackway opens June 10. Check out the poster:
