An Ohio-based company, Throwflame, is selling robotic dogs with flamethrowers attached to consumers within the United States.The contraption, called the Thermonator, was first released last year but garnered more attention in April when Throwflame announced they were back in stock, selling for $9,420 apiece.New promotional footage published on April 19 shows Throwflame’s ARC Flamethrower, which the company says can “send streams of fire up to 30 feet with the push of a button,” attached to a Go2 Robot Dog manufactured by the China-based Unitree.On its website, Throwflame says flamethrowers are legal to own, remain “federally unregulated,” and are “not even considered a firearm (ironic) by the federal authorities.”The company said its first flamethrower, the X15, released in 2015, could send “a stream of flaming fuel or napalm up to 50 feet,” prompting “a significant media response relating to legality.” However, the device remains “completely unrestricted in 48 states,” Throwflame said.A flame-throwing drone is also available.
