Joseph Gordon-Levitt addresses Knives Out 3 return

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has addressed a possible return to the Knives Out franchise.

The actor has a long-standing relationship with the film's director Rian Johnson after starring in his 2005 thriller Brick.

Gordon-Levitt went on to voice Detective Hardrock in the first Knives Out film, before voicing the Hourly Dong in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Speaking to CinemaBlend, the actor responded to whether he'll make an appearance in the third Knives Out movie Wake Up Dead Man.

"I don't know, I don't know. But [Johnson] makes only good movies," he said, adding: "Rian Johnson is one of the best alive, I think."

While it's not yet known whether Gordon-Levitt will feature in the upcoming Netflix film, cast announcements for the murder mystery have been coming thick and fast in recent weeks.

Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny were the first two cast members announced, with Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Daryl McCormack, Josh Brolin and Thomas Haden Church making up the rest of the star-studded cast.

Wake Up Dead Man was teased by Johnson in January, with official confirmation and the film's title following in May. The third film is set to arrive on the streaming service sometime in 2025.

Filming on the blockbuster is officially underway, with Johnson marking the milestone with a new photo of Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc.

Details of the film's plot are currently being kept under wraps, but its title has left some fans speculating whether the movie could be connected to the U2 song of the same name.

As for Gordon-Levitt, the actor next appears on screen as a police detective in upcoming action comedy Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which lands on Paramount+ on July 3. The film also stars Eddie Murphy and Kevin Bacon.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be released on Netflix in 2025.
