Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good were first romantically linked in May 2023

Jonathan Majors has been dating his girlfriend, Meagan Good, since May 2023.

The Creed III actor and the Shazam: Fury of the Gods actress were first linked after they were spotted on a movie date together.

Reports of their relationship came two months after Majors was charged with physically assaulting a woman while riding in a New York taxi cab in March. Court documents from the Manhattan district attorney's office and obtained by PEOPLE allege that Majors "[struck the victim] about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear."

Majors "completely denies assaulting the woman," according to his attorney Priya Chaudhry, who also claimed that the woman involved was being dishonest about her version of events.

"Yet this false case continues, the woman's claimed location shifts, and her story morphs," Chaudhry said in a statement to PEOPLE after a May hearing. "This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless claims. Instead of dismissing the allegations in the face of the woman's clear lies, the DA has adjusted the charges to match the woman's new lies."

A month later, Chaudhry said Majors filed his own domestic violence complaint, calling his time with the alleged victim "an enduring nightmare in their relationship."

Since May, Majors has appeared in court multiple times, accompanied by Good.

The pair addressed their relationship publicly for the first time when they appeared at the Congressional Black Caucus’ eighth annual Black and White Gala together in September 2023. At the event, Majors referred to Good as “the missus.”

Good was previously married to DeVon Franklin before splitting in December 2021. The exes finalized their divorce in June 2022, just a week after what would have been their 10th anniversary.

May 13, 2023: Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are confirmed to be dating 

PEOPLE confirmed the pair were dating after Majors and Good were spotted going on a date at the Alamo Drafthouse in Los Angeles to see a movie. The news came after Majors appeared virtually in court the same week following his arrest and charges of assault and harassment.

May 15, 2023: A source tells PEOPLE that Meagan Good has given Jonathan Majors “support” amid allegations

The Harlem actress grew closer to Majors amid his assault charges and their friendship turned romantic during that time, a source told PEOPLE.

"Meagan and Jonathan have maintained a friendship for some time," the source said.

"Meagan has shown considerable support towards him," the insider continued.  "It seems their relationship has developed further from that point."

May 22, 2023: Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are spotted traveling together

The pair were photographed holding hands as they disembarked from an airplane. They were traveling from N.Y.C. to L.A. together as Majors awaited his next court date.

June 20, 2023: Meagan Good accompanies Jonathan Majors to his court appearance

Majors showed up to the Manhattan Criminal Court in N.Y.C. for a hearing with Good by his side. They were photographed holding hands as they entered and exited the courtroom.

Majors wore a brown suit while Good was in a white dress and light brown blazer. During the appearance, Majors only said good morning to the judge and acknowledged her instructions to appear in court on August 3 for his trial.

June 28, 2023: A source tells PEOPLE Meagan Good’s friends are respecting her “decisions” as she gets “more serious” with Jonathan Majors

While Good may have gotten some backlash for dating Majors due to the allegations against him, her friends were supportive of her decision to date whomever she wanted, a source close to the actress told PEOPLE.

"It's obviously not the best situation, but they're letting her make her own decisions,” the source said. “It's been a little stunning to see her go from [ex-husband DeVon Franklin], with faith at the center of their marriage, to Jon, but also understandable why she'd go for someone who's totally different after being with the same person for so long and not having it work out.”

The source added that Good's divorce from Franklin was “tough” for her. "Her divorce was very tough for her to process, and the decision to end the marriage is something both she and DeVon took very seriously," the source said, adding that she "has a really, really good heart."

The source also added that Good and Majors’ relationship was growing “more serious.”

"She and Jonathan are taking it slow, but it's definitely progressing and getting more serious,” they said. "She wouldn't be out and about with him so publicly or be supporting him in his legal situation if the relationship didn’t mean something to her."

August 3, 2023: Meagan Good accompanies Jonathan Majors to court again 

Majors and Good were photographed holding hands once again outside the Manhattan Criminal Court as he appeared for the second time during his domestic violence case.

August 9, 2023: Meagan Good spends her birthday with Jonathan Majors

Good celebrated her 42nd birthday with her boyfriend. The pair were photographed walking in West Hollywood, California.

Majors did not, however, make an appearance in Good’s Instagram carousel celebrating her birthday where she posed in a strapless green gown.

September 24, 2023: Jonathan Majors calls Meagan Good “the missus” in a speech

The couple addressed their relationship publicly for the first time at the Congressional Black Caucus’ eighth annual Black and White Gala co-hosted by Good and Larenz Tate in Washington D.C.

In her speech, captured in a video clip posted on X, Good passed the mic to Majors.

“We’re just so happy to be here with y’all tonight, celebrating us, celebrating the moves we’re making, celebrating the way we love and support each other, the way that we shift the world. Let’s enjoy ourselves!” Good said.

“So many beautiful Black faces. I love us, y’all! We are so beautiful! That’s all I got. I’m just happy to be here and I love y’all!” she continued before turning it over to Majors. “Babe, you want to say anything?”

Majors then said, “Y’all heard the missus, so that’s what it is.”

September 25, 2023: A source confirms to PEOPLE that Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are not married

After Majors called Good “the missus” and caused speculation that he and Good were married, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the two were still in the dating phase of their relationship.

Both Good and Majors rep did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
