The scariest movie out this weekend isn’t The Witch, it’s Donald Trump tearing off his face to reveal that he’s actually Oscar-nominated actor and global superstar Johnny Depp.

Depp, known for his all-in performances, donned heavy prosthetics and makeup to play the mouthy magnate-turned-presidential candidate in a 50-minute film released last week by Funny or Die. An absurdist adaptation of Trump’s 1987 book The Art of the Deal, the film skewered his early business dealings and self-mythologizing, with Depp providing a scarily accurate impression of the now-69-year-old.

According to Joe Randazzo, the film’s writer, Depp spent hours in the makeup chair each shooting day, getting into the character by getting into his face.

“He really wanted to bury himself in it,” Randazzo told Yahoo Movies last week. “It was a challenge because it was so much, but it really did add this sort of monstrous look to him that I don’t think was completely intended, but was very welcome.”

As you can see, he really did disappear into the makeup, which created a surreal environment on set.

“He really does get deeply, deeply into the role,” Randazzo said. “I only saw him out of makeup on the last day. It was really weird to realize, 'Oh yeah, I’m working with the biggest movie star in the world the last four days.’ Once in a while, a little bit would slip out. He was such a nice, funny guy, so it was like cracking jokes with Donald Trump.”
