Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's Defamation Trial is Being Made Into a Movie

Building on the conclusion of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation trial, the "most-watched trial of the year" has now been made into a movie. The Tubi original Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial is a fictionized retelling of the case closely followed around the world by millions.

Ultimately, the jury deliberated that Heard defamed Depp with domestic violence allegations included in her December 2018 op-ed piece, while Depp was held liable for a defamatory statement made about Heard by his lawyer.

The official trailer for the film reveals that Hot Take will present both sides of the trial presented by the lawyers representing Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Aside from the lead-up and scenes from the two-month trial, the trial also references the TikTok videos that mocked Heard during the trial. The Tubi original expedited production by partnering with Fox Entertainment’s MarVista Entertainment.

Watch the official trailer for Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial premiering September 30 on the free, ad-supported Tubi service September 30.
