John Clay Podcast: Previewing Kentucky’s high school football championships

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association holds it annual football championships on Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday Dec. 4, 2021, at Kroger Field in Lexington. Champions will be crowned in six different classes. Lexington Herald-Leader sports columnist John Clay talked with Herald-Leader high school writer Jared Peck about the weekend, including previews on all six games. Here’s the schedule:

Friday

A-Pikeville vs. Russellville at noon; 2A-Beechwood vs. LCA at 4 p.m.; 4A-Johnson Central vs. Boyle County at 8 p.m.

Saturday

3A-Paducah Tilghman vs. Belfry at noon; 5A-South Warren vs. Frederick Douglass at 4 p.m.; 6A-Male vs. St. Xavier at 8 p.m.
