New 'Star Wars' Star John Boyega Is Living the Nerd Life You've Always Wanted

John Boyega is living out the ultimate fan’s fantasy.

Like his co-star Oscar Isaac, the 23-year-old British actor is a total Star Wars nerd, making his casting in the franchise re-starter Star Wars: The Force Awakens something of a dream come true. The actor, best known for his role in the indie action flick Attack the Block, will play Finn, a character of unknown origins whom we’ve seen wearing Stormtrooper gear in the first two trailers.

Whether or not Finn actually is a Stormtrooper remains to be seen — director J.J. Abrams warned the actor off the question during the presentation at Star Wars Celebration — but either way, Boyega apparently loved the costume so much that he’s incorporated its design into his leisurewear. He posted the photo above earlier this morning, writing, “Leaving the ultra nerd house for a nerd run.#Troophoodie.”

Nerd house is right: The room from which he snapped the photo is filled with collectible action figures and other toys from Star Wars as well as both Marvel and DC Comics. And if you look near the bottom of the picture, you can spot the extra-large Han Solo figure that Boyega had Harrison Ford sign on set. As Boyega told the audience during Star Wars Celebration, Ford was a bit uncertain about the whole thing, telling the young actor “This is weird” as he signed the large plastic facsimile of himself.

Boyega had a total blast at the big convention, and not just because he was in the spotlight. Like a true Star Wars nerd, he dressed up in costume on the floor of the main hall and walking around in disguise, as he giddily explained in an Instagram video that you can see below:

And because Lucasfilm is now owned by Disney, Boyega also made sure to show respect to the new boss:
