Yahoo Movies Jodie Comer's award-winning play is returning to UK cinemas
Jodie Comer's award-winning play Prima Facie is returning to UK cinemas later this year after its record-breaking run for NT Live in 2022.
The play is the most-watched National Theatre Live title to date, having been watched by nearly half-a-million people worldwide. It previously played in UK cinemas in July-September 2022, becoming the highest-grossing event cinema release ever.
If you missed out then, but want to see it on the big screen, Prima Facie returns to cinemas worldwide, including in the UK, from September 12.
The one-woman play sees Comer star as brilliant young barrister Tessa who has worked her way up to be at the top of her game. However, an unexpected event forces her to confront the lines between the power of the law, burned of proof and morals.
Prima Facie was recorded live during its sold-out run at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End in 2022. Comer received multiple awards, including an Olivier and a Tony, for the performance, which she reprised on Broadway.
"I'm thrilled that the NT live recording of our London run of Prima Facie will be screening worldwide in cinemas again," Comer said.

Prima Facie is also being adapted into a movie by Miller, with Cynthia Erivo taking on the role of Tessa.
Comer, meanwhile, can currently be seen on the big screen in The Bikeriders and has an upcoming role in 28 Years Later which is set for release in 2025.
Prima Facie returns to cinemas from September 12.
