Jinkx Monsoon clears Dave of Judy Garland's death with legendary All Stars 7 Snatch Game

Warning: This article contains spoilers for episode 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7.

After nearly 10 years of investigation — that somehow did not inspire a true-crime documentary and accompanying detective-work podcast — Jinkx Monsoon's RuPaul's Drag Race season 5 makeover subject Dave has been formally cleared (by Judy Garland herself) in the self-alleged killing of Judy Garland.

"I'd like to take a moment. You see, there's a veteran named Dave who's been on your show, and said he was worried that he killed me," Jinkx-as-Judy told RuPaul during the All Stars 7 Snatch Game celebrity impersonation challenge, which already has the internet alight with reviews touting this version (featuring a cast of all Drag Race winners) as one of the best rounds of the fan-favorite challenge in her-story. "And I want to say, Dave, if you're watching, you're not responsible, darling," Jinkx's Judy said into the camera. "It's alright. You're forgiven."

World of Wonder/Paramount + Dave, a veteran who appeared as a makeover subject on 'RuPaul's Drag Race' season 5; Jinkx Monsoon as Judy Garland on 'All Stars 7' Snatch Game.

Who is Dave and how did he "kill" Judy Garland?

Dave famously made the confession back in 2013 on Drag Race's season 5, episode 10 makeover challenge, which saw the queens pairing up with U.S. military veterans. Dave quickly latched on to Jinkx, who made him over into the iconic Fortuna Monsoon, but Dave's admission about his past perhaps stoked more interest than their runway offerings.

"I think I might've killed Judy Garland," Dave told a stunned RuPaul during the Emmy-winning host's Werk Room visit. "We were talking one night at dinner, and she asked me about the new sleeping pills that were out. I told her about a new one, and she died of an overdose."

RuPaul then famously tried to absolve Dave of perhaps the most high-profile self-professed slaying in modern history, telling the ex-military man that Judy in fact "worked real hard" on her own vices without his help.

How did Jinkx pull off another legendary Snatch Game?

Speaking of legendary pasts, Jinkx's work on All Stars 7 matched the excellence of her first Snatch Game go-round as Little Edie — this time as both Garland and Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne.

"I wasn't expecting to shatter the mold as much as I did with Little Edie, but, after having done that, I felt a lot of pressure to really bring it for the Snatch Game this time," the Drag Race season 5 winner previously told EW of doing it all over again on AS7. "I knew that I had to do someone that was iconic but who I could live in for however long it took us to film Snatch Game that day."

Jinkx ended up winning the challenge for the second time in her career, after calling RuPaul "Broom," hilariously describing Liza Minnelli's favorite "sandwidge" (steak and eggs between two pork chops), and debunking the age-old myth of what really lies at the end of the Wizard of Oz rainbow: "It's a set, Ru."

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7 continues streaming Fridays at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on Paramount+.
