New Jersey Councilwoman Shot Dead Inside Vehicle, Police Say

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said there was an “active and ongoing” homicide investigation following the death of a New Jersey councilwoman on Wednesday, February 1.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the office said authorities received reports of shots fired in Sayreville, New Jersey, on the evening of February 1.

Officers found 30-year-old councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour deceased in her vehicle when they arrived at the scene, according to the statement.

The statement said Dwumfour had “sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”
