Jennifer Lawrence Open to Doing More X-Men Movies (If She Doesn't Puke)

Jennifer Lawrence was all smiles, giggles, and off-color jokes while hanging out with her X-Men: Apocalypse co-stars Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy at Yahoo’s Comic-Con video suite. But did 2015 mark the last time the trio would be kicking it in San Diego together?

Each of the stars’ contracts for the franchise expires with this third prequel movie, but Fassbender (who plays Magneto) and McAvoy (Professor X) have signaled their willingness to return to the mutant universe. Lawrence, on the other hand, isn’t quite sure if she wants to continue wearing Mystique’s full-body blue.

“I told Fox not to not ask me,” Lawrence told Yahoo Movies. Fassbender, always a quick wit, jokingly responded, “Because you want to have the option to turn them down?” and Lawrence responded in kind: “I kind of want to bait them with a text and then when they call me, I go, ‘Don’t call me!’ and then hang up. I don’t know — I love doing these movies.”

All jokes aside, Lawrence, whose career has exploded since joining the franchise thanks to an Oscar win (for The Silver Linings Playbook) and The Hunger Games, thinks whether she continues with the X-Men or not will be a game-time decision.

“I want them to ask me, and then I’m just going to see how I feel in the moment when they ask,” she explained. “It might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people, but I feel like I’ll know when they ask. If I get a pit in my stomach and feel like I’m going to throw up, I’ll say no. And if I don’t, I’ll ask how much they want to pay me.”

With Lawrence already getting a rumored $20 million paycheck that could turn into even more for her upcoming sci-fi film Passengers, Fox will really have to show the actress the money if they want to keep her stomach settled and their star on board for future films.
