Jennifer Lawrence Admits She 'Got Really Drunk' For First Movie Sex Scene

Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that it was Dutch courage that got her through her first proper movie sex scene.

But she added during a discussion for The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Actress Roundtable event that her anxiety quashing tactic didn’t really work out.

The scene is part of sci-fi drama ‘Passengers’, with none other than Chris Pratt, who, as Lawrence was keenly aware, is married to actress Anna Faris.

“I had my first real sex scene a couple weeks ago, and it was really bizarre,” she told the other participants, including Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda.

“Nobody did anything wrong. It’s just a bizarre experience.

“I got really, really drunk. But then that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don’t know’.”

“And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach,” she went on.

“And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that. So I called my mom, and I was like, ‘Will you just tell me it’s OK?’

“You don’t know what’s too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then… That was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”

Other than briefly passionate scenes in the movies 'Like Crazy’ and 'Serena’ (with Anton Yelchin and Bradley Cooper respectively), so far the 25-year-old has largely avoided such matters, other than brief kisses with Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the 'Hunger Games’ movies.

“I don’t know [Pratt] as well as I know Josh and Liam. It doesn’t feel as much like making out with a family member. Not that I’m against that — I’m from Kentucky,” she joked.

'Passengers’, due out at Christmas next year, finds Pratt and Lawrence as travellers on an intergalactic ship in cryogenic stasis.

When Pratt wakes 90 years early, he awakens Lawrence’s character to keep him company.
