Jennifer Garner tells Jill Biden that moms will 'put you in the White House'

Jennifer Garner says moms are going to determine this year's election.

In a 20-minute Instagram live video Tuesday, the "13 Going on 30" star hosted a virtual conversation with Dr. Jill Biden to discuss the aspiring first lady's priorities for the country and her plans should her husband, former Vice President Joe Biden, win the 2020 presidential election. A big one is providing support for mothers.

Biden detailed the challenges for military families and being a busy mother, especially amid the pandemic.

"Can you imagine doing all that and having a husband or a spouse who is deployed somewhere else in the world?," Biden says. "And all the meanwhile, here are the moms trying to do their jobs, teach online, help their kids online when they're schooling and doing everything else. I think moms rule, don't you?"

Garner, a mom of three, agreed: "Moms are gonna put you in the White House."

Garner later asked Biden what tips she had for parents in helping their children deal with the pandemic.

A longtime teacher, the former second lady offers one easy tip: encouraging their children to journal, whether it's through writing or artwork. Biden explains that this hobby can encourage kids to reflect on what they learned about themselves.

"Hopefully, we will be out of this soon and get this pandemic under control, but for them to remember 5 years from now and look back at themselves wearing masks ... How did this change their lives? What did this make them think about?"

In response, Garner talked about the hope she finds in talking with her daughters.

"My kids are so much smarter than I've ever been a day in my life," Garner says. "I really talk to my 14-year-old and I think, 'Oh, the world will be OK.' My 11 year old- she's on it. She's all about climate change."
