Jennifer Garner just put an effortless summer spin on one of this year's sexiest trends: the exposed corset dress.

On May 18, Garner stepped out in a light off-the-shoulder corset dress at the Charter Oak in St. Helena, California, for the Rockout/Knockout Cancer event hosted by Garner and Elyse Walker to raise money for the St. Helena Hospital Foundation and early cancer detection. The Alexander McQueen dress, which retails for $3,490 at Elyse Walker, features a midi skirt, a corseted bodice with visible boning, and, perhaps most important, pockets!

Though the visible corset gives the summer frock a modern edge, Garner looks appropriately dressed for the past three decades in brown platform sandals, gold bangles, and hoop earrings. She topped off the classic ensemble with a light, glowy makeup look and wore her shoulder-length bob in loose waves. Now that's how you take a trend and make it timeless.

Jennifer Garner currently stars in the Apple TV+ miniseries The Last Thing He Told Me, alongside Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. During a recent interview with People, she revealed a prank Coster-Waldau played on her while filming the emotional drama. “I was talking to Josh [Singer], and it seemed like a background player came and sat next to me,” shared Garner. “And Josh kind of started smiling. And this person was just getting more and more comfortable next to me, and I thought, I don't know you.”

Turns out it was Coster-Waldau in a brand-new look. “I instantly was just…I was so shocked. He was in a beard,” she said. “They were testing his look for the last scene. And he just completely, completely caught me off guard. And, you know, I cried, and I yelled at them. And then we went on.”
