Jenna Dewan praised for 'vulnerable' post about motherhood: 'Didn't nail it this week'

Jenna Dewan is opening up about the realities of motherhood — and how she's giving herself grace after a rough week.

The mom of two, who shares 7-year-old daughter Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum, and infant son Callum with fiancé Steve Kazee, got candid with her Instagram followers on Monday, posting a photo of herself with her active baby, who turned 1 last Saturday.

"Didn't nail it this week," the 40-year-old dancer and actress wrote. "A lot of things I wish I handled a little differently. As someone who has always been a little too hard on myself... I’ve also realized it’s pretty healing to just accept you’re not perfect. When you have the best of intentions but it doesn’t always go the way you were hoping and you take a moment to look at your harried self in the mirror and it’s okkkkkk. it’s all about growing and learning anyways. Go lightly people."

Dewan's post struck a chord with other moms, who related to her frustration about not always getting it right.

"Nice to see your vulnerable side, fellow mama," read one comment.

"Realest post on Instagram," another commenter wrote.

"Wow love this honesty!" added a fan.

"Feeling this lately! Thanks for the post," one commenter shared.

Fellow celebrity mom Jessica Alba echoed that sentiment, writing, "Me every day girl. You got this."

"Loving you," actress Nikki Reed responded.

Despite it being a rocky week, Dewan's family has had some bright spots. Kazee's Instagram post celebrating their son's birthday shows the 1-year-old taking his first steps into a delighted Dewan's arms.
