Billionaire Jeff Bezos announced this week that he was moving back to his childhood hometown of Miami.
Here’s a look at other famous people who decided to buy a home in South Florida recently:
Soccer star Lionel Messi bought a house in Fort Lauderdale for $10.75 million in September, two months after signing on with Inter Miami CF.
Three years ago, Messi’s boss, Inter Miami’s co-owner and legendary soccer player David Beckham, bought a 11,046 square foot downtown Miami penthouse that was listed at $20 million.
Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady bought a $17 million house with his then-wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, in Indian Creek Village in late 2020. Gisele, 43, bought a house in Southwest Ranches in Broward County in September for $9.1 million.
The Trump Family
Former President Donald Trump’s son Eric and his wife Lara bought a $3.2 million, five-bedroom house in Jupiter in August 2021. His older brother, Donald Trump, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly Guilfoyle, bought a $9.7 million, six-bedroom home in Admiral’s Cove, also in Jupiter, six months earlier.
Speaking of the Trump children, his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner own waterfront land in Indian Creek Village they bought in 2020 for $30 million. Kushner’s younger brother, Joshua owns a $23 million home that he bought in 2020 with his supermodel wife Karlie Kloss, also in in Indian Creek.
Stephen Marley, a singer and music producer — and, one of Reggae legend Bob Marley’s children — bought two adjoining properties in Homestead in late 2020 for $3.4 million.
And, while we’re talking about mega rich people, hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin paid $106.9 million for the sprawling Arsht Estate in Coconut Grove in April.
