Jazmine Sullivan Drops the Tracklist For the Deluxe Version of Heaux Tales
It's finally happening: Jazmine Sullivan is releasing a deluxe version of Heaux Tales! Just a year after releasing her Grammy-nominated album, the R&B singer has announced that an extended version of her fourth studio project will arrive on Feb. 11. On Jan. 24, she tweeted, "Mark your calendars," with a graphic of the upcoming album, titled Heaux Tales, Mo' Tales: The Deluxe. A week later, Sullivan shared the official tracklist on her Instagram, which includes songs like "Issa's Tale," "Tragic," "Jazzy's Tale," "Selfish," and "Hurt Me So Good."
Sullivan released her Heaux Tales project last year after a five-year hiatus to showcase the untold and underrepresented stories of Black women, focusing on love, relationships, and self-worth. In an interview with NPR, she speaks on why she chose to create her album around these themes. "I just wanted to tell the untold stories of women," she says. "I feel like society makes it seem like we have to be perfect and present ourselves a certain way to be considered a good woman. We're so very layered and multidimensional and we have stories to tell, and they're all not great stories but that's what makes us who we are."
Heaux Tales turned out to be one of the most talked-about albums of 2021 and snagged several nominations from the Recording Academy, NAACP Image Awards, and Soul Train Awards. Now, fans are just eagerly waiting to see what else the songstress has up her sleeve.
