If fans walked away with one specific scene they hold dear to their hearts from the 2008 hit comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” it’s usually the one where Jason Segel’s character, music composer Peter, showcases a comedy musical he’s working on to Mila Kunis’ character Rachel.
One about, well, Dracula, acted out with puppets. Oh, and it’s also an opera.
Despite rarely performing the piece in public, the “Shrinking” actor surprised a Los Angeles club by belting out the iconic tune — puppets included, a video on TikTok shows.
The video was posted by user @RambunctiousRabbit, who said in the comment section that not only did Segal perform that hilarious song, but he admitted he has actually has written the “full show.”
“He told us he wrote the full show,” the creator said after someone commented that they’d pay good money to see the entire Dracula rock opera. “One can only hope but we heard people told him to never put it out but so many people loved Sarah Marshall.”
Clearly, people are still obsessed with ”Dracula’s Lament” and the comedy overall since the comment section of the video was filled with love.
“This movie is my Roman Empire. You are so lucky to have witnessed this,” one person said.
“This is my Eras concert,” another gushed.
“What I would give to see this live,” someone noted.
“I hope the crowd realizes how lucky they were to see this,” one person said.
The TikTok user went on to say that folks were surprised by the song choice and had no idea what was coming.
“This is the 2nd time ever he’s ever performed this live,” they said. “The first time was in 2009 on the Late Late Show w/ Craig Ferguson.”
Segel struck comedic gold after starring on the CBS comedy series “How I Met Your Mother” and went on to star in several movies and TV shows including “This Is 40,” “The Five-Year Engagement,” and most recently “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.”
