Jared Leto Wants To Appear In Ben Affleck’s Batman Movie

‘Suicide Squad’ may be just around the corner but it hasn’t stopped Jared Leto from wanting to be in future DC outings, with one particular solo movie in mind.

According to his latest comments, which came during a chat with the Toronto Sun, the actor who plays the latest version of The Joker echoed his previous desire to appear in more DC ventures, specifically opposite Ben Affleck.

Speaking about his role in David Ayer’s ’Suicide Squad’, the ‘Dallas Buyers Club Oscar-winner had the following to say:

“I hope it’s an introduction (of the Joker) … and not the end! Because I could easily just play the Joker a couple more times and then retire. Because it’s so fulfilling and so creative and it’s so imaginative. It’s really difficult to think about doing anything else!”

As we’ve learned over the the past 12 months, Leto’s taken his role of the iconic Joker extremely seriously, with a number of reports emerging based on his hardcore and rather unique method acting.

There’s no doubt that a standoff between Affleck’s bulky, gruff Dark Knight and this creepily psychotic version of The Joker would tell an engaging story on the big screen but with Affleck writing, directing, and starring in said reboot he surely already has an idea about who will be his nemesis.

And the actor appears to be up for committing to the job right away, regardless of how intense it’d be:

“I think it would be incredible to see Batman and the Joker go head-to-head! This Batman and this Joker. I mean, I don’t know, that might be too much! But that would be fun,” enthuses Leto.

Logically it’d make sense to see Jared Leto as the main villain, considering we don’t know how much screentime and indeed significance he has in ‘Suicide Squad’. He appears keen to continue playing the deranged character the years to come, we’re just not sure how co-stars like Affleck would cope when he inevitably raises his method acting game.

‘Suicide Squad’ is in UK cinemas from 5 August, 2016.
