Janelle Monáe has been known for wearing structural dresses that make a statement. From their ever-evolving and astonishing Met Gala looks, to their stunning silhouette at this year's Grammys, the singer/ actor knows how to pick a look.
On Thursday night, Monáe, who uses she/they pronouns, posed for photos ahead of the 2024 NFL Honors ahead of this weekend's Super Bowl. The singer strutted down the red carpet in a dress unlike any other, showing off their continued stylish choices. Monáe wore a strapless minidress adorned with black, silver, and white detailing that created a large C-shape on the front of the gown. The design comes from Tony Ward's spring-summer 2024 collection.
Monáe paired the dress with black Jimmy Choo peep-toe heels and two matching diamond anklets and earrings. The singer also wore a sleek pixie hairstyle, dewey makeup, and a bold red lip.
Janelle Monáe has been a style icon for years. The actor's outfits as seen at multiple award shows and high-pressure events including the Met Gala have never disappointed. During 2019's Met Gala, when the theme was Camp, Monáe was one of the best dressed; showing up in a Christian Siriano gown that went right along with the theme and encapsulated Monáe's legacy as style connoisseur. The gown appeared to be split in two, with an eyeball as her bra, but the actor's stack of hats was what really stole the show.
At the 2024 Grammy Awards, Monáe was nominated for two awards — including Album of the Year for their fourth studio album, The Age of Pleasure. Despite walking away without a win, Monáe was one of the best dressed at the award show. She wore a custom Giorgio Armani Privé gown that emulated liquid black. The form-fitting dress hugged her body and was connected with a silver embellishment all down the center. Monáe also had her sleek pixie cut that night.
